Dinner @ AMK Hub

Pete & I needed to stock up on Chloe's formula, so we headed to AMK Hub after work. Chloe was cranky on the way there & fell asleep instantly after I put the pacifier into her mouth! She was totally exhausted after missing her afternoon nap.

I carried her to meet Pete at the taxi stand & headed for dinner first at New York New York Cafe Restaurant. It's our first time there & we managed to get a cushion seat so that I can rest my sleeping beauty on the seat while I eat. The meal was pretty good to my surprise.

Pete ordered a Rotisserie chicken pasta while I had Teriyaki Chicken. The meat was tender & juicy. We ordered a coke @ the last minute to quench our thirst...the sizzling drink really add more punch to our meal. We managed to enjoy our dinner at our own pace before Chloe wakes up.

Overall, it's a good dinner. With Pete to accompany me & my baby fast asleep.

Changing Habits...

We used to change Chloe on the mat in the living room. Nowadays, it's quite hard to do so. Chloe will not allow us to change for her & she will scream, kick & cry loudly. On days when her diaper is really full or when we really need to rush out, we have no choice but to battle with her. Distract her with toys? Nope, wont work. Whenever I say 'Time to change diaper', Chloe will run away, pretending not to hear me. She will shake her head repeatedly. I will have to chase after her. I do really feel frustrated especially when I am rushing for time. Sometimes, it works if I put her on my bed with a bottle of milk to keep her busy.

Chloe has started to scream at the top of her voice quite often. I do not know why she is doing this. Despite telling her NO repeatedly, she will still continue screaming just to anger me. Gu Po is also commenting that it's difficult to feed Chloe. She would walk around & refuse to be fed after a few spoonfuls of porridge. If we coax her to eat, she would take in one spoonful & push the food out with her tongue.

I hope this is just a passing phase, till she hits the terrible 2 stage, I would expect more 'drama' in the house.

Green Bean Soup Anyone?

My first attempt to cook something that I dun really fancy - Hot Dessert. This is quite simple to make & it's fast to cook. Good for me, saves time & it's a healthy treat. In fact, I hardly cook now, compared to my late teens. The green bean soup is said to be able to bring down a baby's fever & reduce 'heatiness'.

Since I dun really eat this, who is this for? Well..it's BIG BABY'S request :P

Mummy, that's OK!

Yesterday morning Pete got up early to send Chloe to Doctor Chee while I went to work. After 5 weeks wait, Chloe is finally fit to go for her Pneumococcal vacination. I was pretty worried for Chloe & called Pete to find out how she was doing. What I heard was a great relief.

Chloe was pretty distracted by the toys in Doctor Chee's room. With his experience & swift actions, he managed to jab Chloe with minimal efforts. The remarkable thing is, Chloe only let out a short cry & she was fine after that! I worried myself for nothing :P I was afraid she would be in great pain after hearing from some mummies that the Prevenar jab is more painful than the rest of the vaccines. Phew! I am relief now :)

My Favourite Past Time

Chloe loves to imitate us. She loves to pick up the remote control & pretends to talk on the 'phone' :P

Peeping Chloe

Last night, Chloe was hyper! At 9.20pm, she was still wide awake. She kept tossing & turning on the bed although the bedroom lights were off long ago. Then when she heard the main gate open, she stood up & went to the bedroom door. Pete & I pretended to sleep hoping she would return to bed. But when we noticed that she was all quiet, we decided to check out what she was doing. What we saw got us laughing..I jumped out of bed & whipped out my cam & shot these in the dark with the flash mode on.

This Little Piggy Goes To Market

Chloe is born in the year of the Pig, so naturally we calls her 'Piggy'.
Gu Po needed to get some fruits from the market for prayers yesterday. She brought along her little trusted trolley basket for her shopping. Chloe loves to be in this basket & Gu Po will push her along with her to the market!

A Day @ The Spa

Taking care of a hyper active baby is no mean feat. Maybe I am getting older, I seem to get aches & pains more often. This past two weeks, I was aching all over, from stiff shoulders & neck to headaches. Just last week, I went for tui na to cure my aching body, went through a round of 'torture' to my body, had 'burnt' marks all over my back from the treatment yet I could not eliminate the pain totally.

Since it's my day off today, I resolved to totally unwind & relax. Yes without my baby. After dropping Chloe to my aunt's place, I went to get my glasses fixed (My baby tore my glasses apart!) After running a few errands, I felt my headache coming back again. So I made my way to a spa impromptu.

I ended up at the 6th level of Paragon - Helioasia. There I was treated to a cup of hot ginger tea & the next few hours was pure bliss. I was led to the spa pool to relax before the massage. In all, I had two 45 min of Shiatsu & Aromotheraphy massage to untie the knots in my tense muscles. The masseuse was superb. Before I realise, 1 hour 30 mins was up & I got changed to have my spa meal at the lounge area.

The experience was great. I felt rejuvenated & energised after the hour long pampering. Perhaps, I should consider indulging in a massage every two months to re-charge!

National Day 2008

Pete & I decided to catch the fireworks display at the last minute & we headed down near the Esplanade to catch the action from the party - Our nation's 43rd Birthday. The fighter planes display was most breathtaking. I held my breath as the planes came so close to each other!

Some pictures taken before my camera went flat.

In Good Hands Again...

This morning I sent Chloe to my aunt's place instead of going to my sister's place at Hougang. Aunt called 2 days back & reported that uncle is making good progress after his operation & she could help me care for Chloe again. The night before, I explained to Chloe that Gu Po will take care of her while I go to work. However, Chloe kept shaking her head when I asked if she wants to go to Gu Po's place.

Just as I had feared, Chloe refused to be carried by Gu Po this morning. She seemed to have forgotten about Gu Po during this one month! After some coaxing, Chloe finally allowed Gu Po carry her while I waved bye bye to her in the car.

This is a relief for both Pete & I as it's time consuming & tiring for Pete to travel by bus every morning. He has to leave the house at 640am in order to beat the traffic & reach his office in time when he is in the morning shift. When Pete needs to work late till the next morning, he needs to come home & bring Chloe to my sis place before he can finally get a good sleep.

It will be another month before Chloe officially goes to childcare. There will be another round of adapting & adjusting to her new environment again. For now...the folks in the Hougang family are already missing her :)

Feeling so at home

Natas Travel 2008

Pete & I ventured all the way to Expo by train late yesterday afternoon after we left Chloe at my sis place. We visited the Natas as well as the Interior Decor fairs. The place was packed with people looking for travel & renovation deals. There is also a Watsons warehouse sale but we did not manage to even go in to check the sale out.

Due to a shortage of time, Pete & I only managed to make enquiries about some renovation works with an ID. The discussion took us almost 2 hours. Then we left for the Natas fair next door & headed straight to make bookings for our Club Med trip in Bintan. We made use of Club Med's 1 for 1 promotion & got our package for a 5 day stay, all meals included. Our trip is confirmed on a Sunday - 21 September.

By the time we got all the bookings done, it's already past 10pm. Chloe stayed over at my sis place for the night while Pete & I took a cab back & only reached home at 11+pm, exhausted & I really miss my baby.

Candies Galore

Backdated post:

Last Saturday, we met up with my sis & nephew after their church service at Millenia Walk. We headed to the Candy Empire straight away. The kids were of cos attracted by the wide array of candies & snacks in the store.
