Project DIY?

Saw this on a decor book for kids room & got inspired somehow... eh... will I have time to source for the cute little doll costumes? Will I ever get down to do it? Hmmm...it's so damm cute!

Beach Outing With Ian

Before the long holidays come to an end, Irene suggested a trip to the beach, so the kids could play together. So we headed to the East Coast in the late afternoon after Chloe had a short nap. The weather was fantastically cool & windy.

Pete & I were hoping this trip would be more fun for us, we were silently praying that Chloe would be more relaxed & willing to step onto the beach this time with Ian around. In fact, it started quite okay when Ian held her hands as we strolled towards the beach. It was that far we could go till Chloe stopped on her tracks n simply refused to go any further. It somehow reminded her of the beach trip with me & pete about 2 weeks back. Then all you could see is fear on her face. She just stood rooted on the sand & cried hysterically. Tears streamed down her chubby cheeks till it wet her cute halter top. A non-deliberate push by Ian got her to lose her balance & she fell with her butt on the sand causing her to be in so much distress that she kept asking for me to bao bao her. I felt very much inclined to go to her rescue initially, yet part of me wanted her to be brave & embrace the nature. So I tried as much as I could to persuade her to join in the fun & even demo to her that water will wash away the sand on her feet. Alas, I succumbed to her wailing & that pitiful look on her face begging me to save her!

Numerous evidence of my poor little girl crying away..

Bored?

I was cooking in the kitchen with my MIL when I caught Chloe posing in this position this afternoon. She was in this pose for about a min & after I dashed to grab my camera, she decided to cover her face.

It's a hot hot day..

Chloe was quite cranky this afternoon & kept whining & behaving quite irritably till Pete has to distract her by bringing her downstairs for a walk.

Doting daddy came back with a smiling Chloe with a sweet treat!

Surprise!!

Chloe woke up from her nap when she saw Ah ma in the living room. Ah ma had paid us a visit with 2 surprises for Chloe.

Chloe was thrilled as usual when there are surprises for her. Ah ma got Chloe a traditional festive lantern for the coming Mooncake festival. It is in a shape of a fish. Chloe also got a new doll in a pram. She loves putting the pacifier on her baby & pushing her around the house. She would pretend to bring baby to the playground & to the shopping centre. I would entertain her by playing along & giving her the task of 'buying' diapers & milk powder for baby.

Me & My Stickers

Since Chloe was about 2 years old, Po Po & Ah Ma will buy her lots of stickers. In all, she already had 3 sticker books. So far I only purchased once for Chloe. During the weekends, Chloe will ask me for her stickers & we will sit together peeling & pasting them.

Chloe does not really know how to treasure her stickers yet. Sometimes she will peel off the stickers she had already pasted on her book & stick them on my glass cupboard & my sofa instead. Then I would have to go around the house peeling off the destroyed stickers on the floor & sofa.

Chloe engrossed in her hobby.

Fly Fly Butterflies...

I have been contemplating to get these decals for the longest time. I finally ordered them after it's on 20% sale.

Since we moved in in June, I did not really do anything to spice up Chloe's bedroom. All she has is a set of pink polka dot curtains, wall hung shelf, my trusted bumper mat & a white wardrobe. She did not even have a bed yet! The bedroom set that I wanted to get for her is way over my budget. So I thought since she is still young, we can make do with pre-loved furniture temporary.

The more economical way of dressing up her room is using decals I suppose. They are cute, removable & a fun way to decorate her room. Chloe loves the new look. She would start counting how many butterflies there are on the wall when I ask her. Good way to teach her numbers!

Toilet Training

Chloe is 3 more days to 2.5 years old today. She is not quite completely potty trained yet. However, she is able to 'perform' her mini business most of the times in school using the mini toilet bowl. At home, she can pee when we sit her on the potty. Nowadays, we would use diaper pants for her in school & at home as this is much more convenient. In this way, we do not need to struggle with sticking back the adhesive on her normal diapers which might fall out after some usage.

At night, Chloe still sleeps with her diapers. I am taking this one step at a time as I believe potty training should start when the child is ready. I am pretty confident she will be completely toilet trained in no time :)

Weekend outing

Hi-5

Chloe's favourite tv show, Hi-5 is in town and there's an appearance of the new cast at Sembawang Shopping Centre. Pete & I specially made a trip down to Sembawang to give Chloe a suprise.

Surprise or rather stunned was how Chloe reacted when she saw her idols. While most of the kids were jumping & dancing around, Chloe's legs was rooted to the ground. Despite me encouraging her to move along to the beat, she simply refused to dance at all. This is far cry from the mad dancing she does at home.

Happy monster dance

Tom & Jerry

Tom & Jerry was at Downtown East as well. Pete brought Chloe for yet another outing to see the 2 furry animals LIVE. Chloe was excited on the trip & began singing out loud during the journey.

Waiting for the show to start.

Trip To The East Coast

Since Chloe's school is closed today, Pete & I took our day off to spend some time with her. We had planned a surprise trip to the beach to play sand castles with her. However our plan did not really work as she refused to put her feet down (even with her shoes on) & feel the sand. I had to carry her & demonstrate how we can build castles with her favourite toys - her pail & spade which she plays every day during bath time.

We finally gave up when all ways to coax her fell to deaf ears. She demanded that I carry her & watch Papa play. We ended up packing early as we felt the rain coming.

Contented playing with my umbrella!
